Great question. The rate of injury in CrossFit ranges widely from study to study. The consensus is that there are between 0.2 and 18.9 injuries per 1,000 training hours, which is low compared to sports and other multi-modality training methods. Most of the injuries we deal with do not happen at the gym, they happen on the golf course, tennis court, pickleball court... the bottom line is that you risk injury as soon as you get off your couch, but the risks of not getting off the couch are far worse. If you are working with a trained professional and following their instruction, your risk of injury is very low.
